Erica N. Williams,

Founder & President

As a young adult, Erica N. Williams is keenly aware of the concerns, complaints, and challenges that this generation faces. After losing her father at the age of 11, Erica experienced grief and spent years trying to fill the void she felt he left open by looking for love in all the wrong places. She hoped that she could find a man who would love her unconditionally and not leave her. One day, Erica clearly heard the Lord speak to her. God told her that He loved her and had a great plan for her life. He wanted to use her in a mighty way for His glory, but only if Erica made herself available to Him. On that day, Erica said yes to God and His plans for her life. And she was never the same. On September 12, 2011, Erica made a decision to abstain from sex until marriage and two weeks later was baptized. She refused to let the death of her father or the difficulties of her life define her. Instead, she clung to God’s Word and His vision for her. She endeavored to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to whoever would listen and to encourage others to focus on God and fulfilling His desires for their lives. The mission and vision for Journey to Purity Foundation were birthed from Erica’s belief that God has a purpose for everyone, especially youth and young adults.

Erica’s knowledge of Biblical principles, coupled with her mentoring experience, are the foundations upon which Journey to Purity Foundation and thousands of impacted Christian women will flourish. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate and holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Georgia Southern University.

Tavana Bunton, Secretary

Tavana was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and relocated to the Washington, DC area before the age of two. Tavana describes her life over the years as being on an emotional rollercoaster, in a game of Tug of War, or like Proverbs 24:16, where it’s told a righteous man falls seven times and rises again. Accepting God’s grace has truly allowed Tavana to walk in her true Salvation. Never giving up on the love God continues to express to her daily, she is determined to live a life that exemplifies the glory of the Lord. She has no degree from a college or university, but she does have the Holy Spirit abiding within her, who has equipped her to complete every assignment with her name on it. Tavana has vowed to her King to live a life dedicated to serving others. Overcoming abandonment, molestation, drug abuse, and sexual immorality, Tavana has a testimony that points only to Jesus Christ. She has come to know the importance of counting the cost to walk with Jesus, it’s a daily sacrifice and commitment. She will be integral in encouraging many women to do the same here at Journey to Purity Foundation.

Katherine Sesow, Treasurer

Katherine Sesow is a God-fearing woman living in Arizona. Having faced sexual and physical abuse and the loss of her parents as a teenager, she strayed far from God during her early 20s. Through immersing herself in the Bible, prayer, devotional reading, and a positive support system, she rededicated her life to the Lord in late 2016. She believes that Bible reading, prayer, and particularly prayers of consecration are crucial to maintaining a pure lifestyle. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services with a minor in Psychology. She looks forward to encouraging women of all ages to help them succeed on their purity journeys.
